Aspxgridview rowupdating tutorial

In data driven web sites, users are normally allowed to view data and administrators are allowed to add, edit or delete data.

In this tutorial I will show you how you can create an editable Grid View control for administrators to modify database records directly into the Grid View control.

The Grid View does know the events that should be used to implement them, so the exceptions shown above are thrown when you try to perform one of these operations, but you have implemented the appropriate event handler.

You need to include the Grid View Command Field column to add Edit, Update and Cancel Buttons in the Grid View. You need to include Template Field for every column you want to provide Editing because Template Field provides you both Item Template and Edit Item Template to create interface for two separate Grid View modes. You need to handle Grid View events such as Row Editing, Row Canceling Edit and Row Updating to provide desired editing functionality. The Grid View 'Grid View1' fired event Sorting which wasn't handled. The Grid View 'Grid View1' fired event Row Deleting which wasn't handled. When I say manually databinding I mean not using a data source control specified as a Data Source ID, but rather setting the Grid View’s Data Source equal to the appropriate data object and calling Data Bind. NET 2.0 are familiar with how to deal with this, but since ASP.In this demo, I presumed that you already have a basic background on how to create a simple database table. Thanks that cmd do not work fine string id = Grid View1. In this example, this time I used my own database called Sample DB which has Customers Table and basically contains the following field columns: As you have noticed in STEP 2, we have added six Text Box and a Button in the web form in order for us to type the information there and Insert them to the database.

Contol[0])Text; it werk just Fine any comment and thx for the code Instead of adding a Customer ID to your table and later pulling the text to get the ID number, a more reliable way to do it is to add a Data Key Names field to the grid example in the page: You can then access this information at any time with the following in code: Grid View1. Row Index]["id"]); You can do this with any field, but I've found customers get confused when they see the ID field and kept asking me why it was there, this also eliminates any issues if you change the display order of your table later (maybe add an edit/update/cancel control) Hey...great article ;)But I got a problem... So here I go with my example:protected void Grid View1_Row Updating(object sender, Grid View Update Event Args e) and the debugger says: Exception Details: System.
